The intense days dedicated to the opening of the Academic Year 2024-2025<\/strong> have come to an end, a beginning marked by moments of high theological reflection and an atmosphere permeated by the spirituality of St. Teresa of Avila, a pivotal figure for our community, after whom our Faculty is named<\/p>\n

On 14 October, the Study Day dedicated to Edith Stein, \u2018The Joy of Truth sought, embraced, lived\u2019<\/strong>, took us on a fascinating journey through the thought of this great woman, capable of combining philosophical depth with evangelical radicalism. Prof. Rowan Williams, former Archbishop of Canterbury<\/strong>, illuminated with his lectio magistralis the many facets of Steinian legacy, highlighting its profound influence on generations of scholars and the extraordinary relevance of its message.<\/p>\n

On 15 October, the liturgical feast of St. Teresa of Jesus, the Solemn Inauguration of the Academic Year was a culminating moment of sharing and celebration for the entire community. The event, opened by the Eucharistic Celebration<\/strong>, saw the conferral of an honorary doctorate on Prof. Rowan Williams<\/strong>, an award given to an outstanding figure in the contemporary theological scene, capable of combining academic excellence with intense spirituality. Prof. Williams’ Inaugural Lectio, entitled \u201cSt. Teresa and the Risk of the Contemplative Life\u201d, offered insights of great relevance, inviting us to rediscover the radicalism and courage that characterise the search for Truth, proper to the Teresian tradition.<\/p>\n

The echo of these days will remain imprinted in our hearts for a long time.
