Joseph Spence, FFm<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Justification<\/em><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> \u201cThe whole world will love me\u201d, Th\u00e9r\u00e8se once said. This course is based on the conviction that Th\u00e9r\u00e8se (1873-1897), the youngest Doctor of the Church, has still much to teach us. As St. John Paul II said: \u201cTh\u00e9r\u00e8se of Lisieux is held up as an eminent model and guide on the path of Christians, as we approach the third millennium\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Goals<\/em><\/strong><strong>: <\/strong>Provide an initial knowledge of St. Th\u00e9r\u00e8se of Lisieux, with a special attention given to first-hand contact with her writings; stimulate interest in the students for Th\u00e9r\u00e8se; offer a method for the critical analysis of theological texts, in particular those of Th\u00e9r\u00e8se.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Content<\/em><\/strong><strong>: <\/strong>The content of the course will focus on six major themes that permeate Th\u00e9r\u00e8se\u2019s experience and writings: her \u201cLittle Way\u201d; the Most Holy Trinity and Th\u00e9r\u00e8se; Jesus as Spouse and Th\u00e9r\u00e8se; the Blessed Virgin Mary and spiritual maternity in Th\u00e9r\u00e8se; fraternal charity in Th\u00e9r\u00e8se; the \u201cPassion\u201d of Th\u00e9r\u00e8se. Various chosen texts of Th\u00e9r\u00e8se will also be read and discussed together.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Method<\/em><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> All the lessons will be held live, on Zoom. In the first hour of our lessons, I will give a lecture for 30 minutes on one of the themes mentioned above; the lecture will be followed by 15 minutes of discussion and dialogue with the students.
